Mission & Approach

Mission

To achieve a healthier, more equitable urban future for all people, in all communities, worldwide.

Approach

ISUH engages researchers, policymakers, urban practitioners and city residents to translate urban health knowledge into practical action and impact, creating and implementing evidence-based solutions that improve lives worldwide.

The International Society for Urban Health (ISUH) is the only global nonprofit organization working to bring together leaders from across academia, government, philanthropy, the nonprofit, and private sectors to achieve a healthier, more equitable urban future for all people, in all communities, worldwide.

The ISUH was founded in 2002 at The New York Academy of Medicine as an organization dedicated to building the field of urban health through its annual scientific meeting, the International Conference of Urban Health (ICUH).
